If you read my last post, you’ll know that I’ve been debating on what to do with this blog now that my Introduction to Creative Writing class has concluded. To make a (ridiculously) long story short, I’ve decided to post my own work now. And I’m just about ready to take the plunge. Gulp!
It’s a big decision for me, mostly because I’m not used to putting my work out there for public consumption and scrutiny. As a grant writer, my work typically reaches a very small audience, and a very specific one as well. Professional Writers don’t get to lend their own voice to their writing works, and rarely do I get the chance to share a poem with anyone much less write one. I enjoyed my class so much that I decided to let my imagination off the leash more often and write creatively once again. It hasn’t been as easy as riding a bike again though–no muscle memory to help me here.
If you find yourself compelled to make a comment or two, I would be happy to read your responses. However, please make your comments constructive. It’s not too hard to be polite and courteous; in fact it’s not difficult at all. Just remember the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
Thanks for reading!
Looking forward to reading your work, Anita!
